From Fathazia Mmani Lenyatso Mmani: Thank you.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who made contributions of any kind to the erection and finally the unveiling of our beloved parents’ Tombstones. Let me hasten on behalf of the family and indeed on my own behalf to sincerely extend a big thank you, to all members of the Lenyatso family. You were indeed magnanimous and demonstrated a very high level of commitment which saw the family achieving the project targets, with the unveiling of the two tombstones. Indeed the project which culminated into the unveiling ceremony was a massive success. We are grateful to all those proud sons and daughters of Lenyatso whose love for their late parents has manifested itself in this great achievement.
The unveiling ceremony itself was a spectacular in terms of organization and attendance. The all inclusive program enabled participation from a broad spectrum of people who proudly related their memories in honor of the lives of mme and tate. This sacrosanct occasion was conducted with dignity and humility. I personally feel very proud to have been associated with the tombstone project.
The tombstone project was a milestone which demonstrated beyond doubt the family’s capacity and potential to achieve greater things, when working as a collective. We also witnessed situational leadership in action, where individual members provided leadership in areas were they possessed high levels of competency. Leadership is in reality situational within the context of an enabling environment.
While success should be used as a bench mark, the weakness and failure should be used as opportunities for learning and growth. I am convinced we all went through some individual personal growth due to the tombstone project. For some it was a steep learning curve which I hope will enrich their lives and improve their emotional intelligence, particularly their interpersonal communication strategies.
“Ndo yekhwani uno kama tjingombe tjemwe zwebathu ka kama mbili.” Love, respect, honor and buthu are important values in all human interactions.
Long Live the Lenyatso Family Long Live!!! Together We Lead, They Follow!!!
